Regardless of whether or not you have private insurance, you may qualify for Washington Apple Health based on the number of your dependents (add one dependent on your application due to the pregnancy) and financial situation. Washington Apple Health may pay up to 100% of your care. If you are a teen (under age 19) and want your pregnancy-related services to be kept confidential, you may apply for coverage through a paper application process. You may also call the WithinReach Family Health Hotline at 1-800-322-2588 for help with the confidential application process.

If you have Providence Health Plan coverage through the Washington State Health Benefits Exchange (Columbia 1500, Columbia 45000, and Columbia 8) or other Providence Health Plans that originate in Washington State (Option Advantage, HSA, or HSE qualified, Choice and Connect), Washington State Department of Health will pay for your abortion services at Cedar River Clinics. We are fully contracted with the program so, there will be no cost to you. Most private medical insurance plans cover abortion without a referral. Cedar River Clinics accepts most major plans, and insurance can usually verify coverage for abortion within 24 hours.  

If you have private insurance, you may want to call your insurance directly to verify your coverage and benefits to estimate your out-of-pocket expenses before presenting your policy number to us. Once you present your policy number to us, we are contractually obligated to bill your insurance our standard fees according to medical billing guidelines for any covered services.  

If you want to use your private insurance, we can pre-verify your coverage, and a financial specialist will be available to go over your individual health benefits, coverage, and out-of-pocket expenses. All quotes given by Cedar River Clinics are an estimate, it is never a guarantee of claim payment, and we cannot be 100% sure what the insurance will pay until they have received and processed your claims.

If you do not present Medicaid/Washington Apple Health coverage or provide a private insurance policy number to us, you are eligible for our sliding fee scale based on services received and your income. This private pay cash discounted price is all-inclusive, covering your procedure; anesthesia, in-clinic ultrasound and lab work, and follow-up appointment.
